For my final project as you know I am waiting to still go with the idea of my struggle with anxiety and depression. I would like to continue with my previous ideas of the spotlight in black and white but I also like the idea of trying something new. I have two new ideas I'm thinking about : 1.) I really like the work of Alexey Titarenko (Danny has posted a link to his website - please check it out) especially his series called City of Shaodows. I love this idea this shows and I also feel that this type of imagery would work for my idea. 2.) I came across a reference to a phantasmogria, which is a precinema projection ghost show invented in France in the late 18th century. If you've seen the movie The Illusionist it's a similar kind of effect - you can youtube the movie for scenes. This would be a much more time consuming way to achieve what I want but the idea really intrigues me. But anyway these are my two ideas I'm playing with and due to time and money constraints I am leaning more towards the first idea, maybe next semester playing with the second. I'm glad you decided to continue this series - I think it's one of your better bodies of work. Perhaps you could build on it and create your senior show from it in the future. Personally, I like the idea of the spotlight rather than actual people in the images (I think you were talking about trying this the other day). I remember that the reason why you resorted to the spotlight was in part due to the fact that people are so hard to work with. This paired with the generic poses that people will undoubtedly give you - I think the spotlight makes more sense. Either way, you could simply shoot the same scene twice - once with your model and once with the spotlight. Then decide later which works best.
